key-dokey, this is some important stuff concerning the two nations Eden and Laguz.
Laguz and Eden may both be together on the Neutral Continent, however that doesn't mean that they're friendly torward each other. Also, the Eden Nation is completely oblivious to the plans of the Laguz Nation. This is the short tale concerning why the Laguz bombed Eden:
The Laguz Leader is a corrupt leopard. Some say indwelt by a demon. With purposes uknown to anyone but himself, he promised glory to the Laguz and world domination accompanying it. Winning his way up from the mayor of a small Laguz town by using his charm, good looks, and mental geniousness, he became a world leader. The Laguz, now hungry for power, will do anything their leader, aptly named Astaroth, says in order to become a leading world power. Now that they have accomplished that, their cities die and fade into nothingness as everyone moves into the massive city of Moscerdam, the Lazrug Capital. Astaroth now sits on the throne of the world. That was when he ordered the militia to bomb all major cities and towns in Eden. Once that was accomplished, Eden was thought to be a dead land, until Yorndon was discovered. The massive dome city of Yordon was bombed with the rest of the Eden continent by a massive atomic bomb. Ever since then, there has been no life on Eden, save for a few animals and the housands of archeological and geological teams sent to find a mysterious "box" on Eden land. What kind of prize is it, that Astaroth is willing to wipe out an entire country for?
Only time will tell.
